PLAY -Videotaiteen näytössarja keväällä 2026

​"PLAY" on VAFTin järjestämä näytössarja Kino Kilta -elokuvateatterissa Turussa. Jokaisen näytöksen koostanut taiteilijakuraattori lähestyy teemaa omalla tavallaan. Näytökset ovat yleisölle maksuttomia ja sisältävät keskustelutilaisuuden kuraattorin ja taiteilijoiden kanssa. 

Näytökset ovat maksuttomia, mutta varaathan silti paikkasi Kino Killasta.

PLAY - Screening series in spring 2026

PLAY is a series of screenings organised by VAFT in Kino Kilta, Turku. Each screening is curated by a different artist, approaching the theme in their own way. The screenings are free of charge and include a discussion with the curator and artists.​​

What kind of animal you’ll become next.” 

Not not amusement only -screeningin teokset käyvät dialogia teemasta Play. Leikillisyys, vitsikkyys, erilaiset roolit ja esitykset ovat näytöksen läpäiseviä aiheita, joita jokainen teos käsittelee omalla tavallaan.

”Kohta kun te arvon vieraat olette poistuneet, minä saunon. Saunon sydämeni kyllyydestä”

Kuraattori: Janne Punkari

Janne Punkari on Turun Taideakatemiasta vuonna 2024 valmistunut kuvataiteilija, joka viimeistelee maisteriopintojaan Taideyliopiston Kuvataideakatemiassa. Hänen taiteellinen työskentelynsä pohjautuu valokuvaan ja valokuvalliseen ajatteluun, jotka saavat usein materiaalisia ja tilallisia ulottuvuuksia installaatioissa. Viime vuosina Punkarin teoksia on esitetty Turun ja Helsingin lisäksi muun muassa Reykjavikissa, Los Angelesissa, Karjaalla ja Pariisissa.

 ”Now you are like playing to do the things. What you need to do, is to do the things.”

 ”Sixty people curating in ecstasy” 

 “You are a person. Person who has chosen to run.”

 “Still waiting to see What kind of animal you’ll become next.”

 The works in the Not not amusement only screening are in dialogue with the theme of Play. Playfulness, jocularity, different roles and performances are topics that penetrate this screening, each piece diving into the topics in their own style.

 ”Soon, when you, dear guests, have left, I will bathe in sauna. I will bathe as my heart desires."

Curator: Janne Punkari

Janne Punkari is a visual artist who graduated from the Turku Academy of Arts in 2024 and is currently completing his master's degree at the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Helsinki. His artistic work is based on photography and photographic thinking, which often take on material and spatial dimensions in his installations. In recent years, Punkari's works have been exhibited in Turku and Helsinki, as well as in Reykjavik, Los Angeles, Karjaa, and Paris, among other places.
